NEXT???

My firm sponsored a local 5k so I got a “free” entry (discussion with lady that it actually cost me more so it wasn’t actually free didn’t go over well first thing in the morning) anyway with 1 day notice i went out and ran it in 25 minutes. Not to shabby for me. 2nd place overall was a 12 yr old kid who did it in 19. He barely broke a sweat. Damn that kid.

New bike is in and sitting in my office.  Can’t believe I have to sit here and stare at it all day.  Damn you work.  Meeting with bike fitter on Sunday to get final adjustments so my first first true ride won’t be for a few days, but I may just take it for a short ride tonight even if it does not quite fit. 

Just received word my new bike is in, it has been built and ready for pick up tomorrow. Birthday appears to have come 2 months early for me. Pics to follow tomorrow.

Swim workout today was hard and tiring. Did a fast interval workout and then was called out by a 65+ yr old lady.
I just finished my workout and was breathing pretty hard at the wall when lady asked me if I wanted some water she had.
I politely said no thank you to which she replied ” I don’t blame you, you don’t know me so you shouldn’t take water from me.”
I kindly said no that was not it, just didn’t need water but that it was very nice of her to offer.
She than states “well if you don’t need it, you better slap those goggles back on and do some more laps. I have 7 more to go and you can do 7 more too if you worked at it.” And off she swam with a big smile on her face.

It should be noted that I swam 2000 yards to her approximately 300 during the same time period, but apparently she looked past that.

I couldn’t help but laugh.
