Due to numerous aches and pains I decided to toture myself further and get a deep tissue massage. It was a painful hour to say the least. I will now be on a weekly massage / adjustment schedule until I am done with my half on January 25th. Did same schedule last year and it really helped me get through it. Still seems odd to me that I pay someone for this painful experience.
Apparently I will be forever known as person 941. I have tried everything to get these tats off, baby oil, rubbing alcohol, white vinegar on top of scrubbing with soap and a wash cloth. It won’t go away. These Tri tats are no joke
Update: nail polish removal did not work. Thanks for idea though.
Good news though. Problem resolved. Found some magical body oil and it came off. Now I can hide in plain site again. I am sure you were all worried sick over the issue, so now you can relax. Whew.
Woke up for tri and weather was perfect. Wind died down to a slight breeze and temp was 82 degrees. Couldn’t ask for a better day, weather was perfect I was happy and relieved. Was excited to start, and about 150 yards into swim is where my good day ended. There are so many issues to list of what went wrong, but to sum it up everything went to crap and fast. My biggest concern is my wrist. I don’t know if it is possible but I may have dislocated my wrist/hand on the swim. Whatever happened it is no good.
Finished 6th out of 26th in age group and 138 out of almost 480ish overall. To say I was dissatisfied and disappointed would be an understatement.
It was an eye opener of where I am for my half in 7 weeks and it doesn’t look good.
Back at it tomorrow, as i have no time to rest.
After tri went to daughters play, she had some small part as a fish in the little Mermaid. Play wasn’t bad, some really talented lead actors for such a young age. What I was most amazed by was my 8 yr old daughter’s muscle definition as she ran around stage dancing, etc. Although I see her everyday when she was onstage you could really see it. Her shoulders, arm and leg muscles were all popping out. Made me smile. I guess having her run, do push ups and pull ups and otherwise keeping her active has paid off for her.
Then when we were Waiting outside with 5 yr old son after show, he jumps up on handle shaped monkey bars amd starts whipping out pull ups to show me how strong he is. Did a set of 12, 8 and 4.
Apparently I have some super fit kids. Makes a dad proud.
After that we spent 3 hours at Christmas parade. Its been a long day, I need to go to bed.
Oh and my UNH Wildcats won there second round playoff game. On to the third round. Go Cats!!!!
Did a practice brick today on tri course. F me is all I said during whole course. Wind was awful. Tossed around on swim, no visabilty and lots of seaweed, biking and running into 25 knot winds was miserable. Somehow due to course shape we go into wind like 75% of time. Wind was strong enough to allow me to hit 30 mph on bike with wind at back without even trying. Just need to figure out how to stop wind for tomorrow.
There were a lot of concerned faces at registration.
I guess I just have to put my head down and battle through.
Time to figure out the sheet of 20 stickers and tattoos I have to put on everything.
perfect mid 70s weather all week with a slight breeze, couldn’t ask for better weather.
Today I wake up to 80s with 90% humidity and 20 knot winds. Just in time for my tri tomorrow morning. Every F’n year, the wind has to arrive and make life difficult.
Turned down lunch to go swimming, get to pool, starting to change, no swim suit in bag. Damn me. Back to office, eating carrots and turkey. Now have to figure out how to get swim in today as well as run, all after work. I may have to swim in bathtub.
Tri Key West takes place this coming Saturday. 26 guys in my division. Hoping to be better than 25. Weather the last 2 days has been awesome, however it is supposed to change this weekend and get windy and hot. I have place 2nd the first 2 years and 3rd last year, so the pressure is on to make it 4 in a row. This time I would like to take 1st.
The Christmas party I have to attend on Friday night does not help the situation but I won’t let it distract me.
I hate the final days before the race. Let’s just do this.
Please send blankets and jackets, looks like it is going to be in the 60s here tonight and tomorrow morning. I may have to wear long sleeves on my bike ride tomorrow. Woah is me.

Cook remainder of food
Wait for family to show up and complain about something (its only about 45 people)
Good times, good times.
Got my back adjusted today. It was Torqued so bad my right leg was 2.5 inches shorter. That would explain the horrible pain and loss of power. I Immediately felt better. Went for a run after adjustment, amazing how sore muscles felt now that spine is where it is supposed to be. Ass muscles were on fire.
Actually had to wear a wind breaker today for first time all fall. It was 73 degrees with 19mph winds and a misting rain. Not ideal but needed to be done. I guess it is a while lot better than you folks in the North.
“Winter is coming.”
